A Tiger At The Bronx Zoo Has Tested Positive For Coronavirus

A 4-year-old Malayan tiger at the Bronx Zoo in New York was tested positive for coronavirus, the virus that causes COVID-19 in people. This is the first instance of a tiger being infected, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s National Veterinary Services Laboratories.
The tiger was tested for the virus when several of the zoo’s lions and tigers started showing signs of respiratory illness, according to the USDA. The agency expects all of the cats are expected to recover.
