Congress leader P Chidambaram has moved to Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court order, rejecting both his pleas in connection with INX Media case. Senior lawyer Kapil Sibal, representing him has sought an urgent listing of his matter. The much-awaited cabinet reshuffle of the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh will take place to fill the slots that have fallen vacant in the last few months, especially after some ministers entered the portals of Lok Sabha Adityanath took over the reins of the state in March 2017 , and this will be the first expansion of his ministry.

2.45 pm: The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused urgent listing of Congress leader P Chidambaram’s petition seeking protection from arrest in the INX Media scam cases. The top court said the defects in the petition were removed just now and it “cannot be listed for hearing today itself”. “Without listing of the petition, we cannot hear the matter,” said a bench comprising Justices N V Ramana, M Shantanagoudar and Ajay Rastogi.

The telephone conversation came ahead of the G7 meeting in France over the weekend, where the two leaders are scheduled to meet for the first time since Johnson became the UK Prime Minister.

He unhesitatingly speaks truth to power and exposes the failures of this government,” Priyanka said on micro-blogging site. “…but the truth is inconvenient to cowards so he is being shamefully hunted down. We stand by him and will continue to fight for the truth no matter what the consequences are,” she further said.
9.15 am: A terrorist was killed in an encounter that broke out on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. A Special Police Officer (SPO) also lost his life in the encounter. The gunfight broke out after security forces received specific information about the presence of terrorists, according to reports. Security forces also launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
9 am: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he will hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over tense situation in Kashmir at the G7 summit in France. “I will be with Prime Minister Modi. I’ll be with him over the weekend in France. I think, we are helping (resolve the tense) situation (between India and Pakistan), Trump told reporters in the Oval Office of the White House.
